There are three aspects which determine the quality of equipment.
- Sonically. We offer equipment which was already of a high price/quality
rate at the moment of it's introduction. Equipment we offer, fulfils (for
instance) the criterion of 'Class A recommendation' by the American High-End
magazine 'Stereophile', i.e.: "Best attainable sound for a component,
without any practical considerations [f.i. the price]. A class A system is
one for which you don't have to make a leap of faith to believe that you're
hearing the real thing." (Stereophile).
- Cosmetically. The cosmetic condition of pieces tells something about the
former owner. When one really loves the pieces one owns, one will really
take care about them. Therefore we only select equipment which looks 'mint',
really 'as new'. Among others, that's a sign that the equipment is in a good
condition and had a adequate treatment by the formal owner.
- Technically. We only acquire and sell equipment which is in a perfect
condition. Before we offer an piece for sale, it is tested technically. We
don't sell equipment which is 'modified', or repaired by means of parts
which are not original. Only pieces which underwent a 'official recognised'
modification, we will sell (for instance the Swoboda modification of Sony CD
ES players). We will always be clear, when such a modification has taken
place.
